The Monterey Peninsula and California's central coast are a playground.  If you are an active outdoors person, this is a 'Mecca' for nature lovers.  If you prefer local village life, shopping and dining can be an endless pleasure.  It's all here, and because of the climate, it's all year! Golf

One of America's greatest Golf retreats, the Monterey Peninsula hosts 6 of the top courses in the world, including the renowned Pebble Beach Club, annual host of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am each January.

Shopping

Whether it's classic resort name-brand shopping, or unique, one-of-kind shopping for items that come with the highest price tag imaginable, or the simplest elegance you could wish for, Carmel-By-The-Sea is a shopping paradise.

Spas

This is a place to relax and rejuvenate.  There are numerous world-class retreats in the Monterey Peninsula offering treatment modalities at the cutting edge of the Spa industry.

Food & Wine

The neighboring Salinas Valley is one of America's great agricultural bread-baskets, producing a cornucopia of fruits and vegetables, year round.  The "catch of the day" salmon comes right out of the Monterey Bay, and Monterey County is the largest producer of grapes in the country, with an exciting selection of local wines to enjoy. No surprise, dining and wine tasting in and around Carmel By The Sea is a treat.

Arts & Cultural Events

Art galleries abound, and the Performing Arts Centers draw the finest performers from around the globe, particularly for the Carmel Bach Festival each July, and the Monterey Jazz Festival each September.

Ocean Cruising & Sailing

Monterey Bay hosts numerous marinas, and the sailing is some of the best on Central Coast, featuring local weekly regattas, chartered cruising, and whale watching excursions.

Big Sur.  If you've never been, it's here, and it has always been considered by many, including some of our greatest writers (Henry Miller, John Steinbeck, etc.) to be one of the most dramatically beautiful coast lines in the world.  And then there are the inland valleys, offering a way of life that feels like traveling through Tuscany...

Hiking / Biking / Camping

The Sierra Club has devoted books to the Big Sur trails and camping.  If you want to get away into nature, this is the place!
